Technical Architect

We are currently looking for a Technical Architect to be based in London on a full-time basis, reporting into the Head of Subsection – Business Solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • To coordinate and develop technological architecture/technical architecture roadmaps and processes that ensure that the technological lifecycle is managed within the organisation
  • To produce strategic technical models, and prepares business cases in alignment with the IT security and quality guidelines. To present business cases, for strategic technical initiatives
  • To support the implementation of security architectures to minimize IT security breaches and issues in alignment with the IT security strategy
  • To plan effective and future oriented data storage, sharing and publishing within the organization in alignment with the solution and enterprise architecture.
  • To be responsible for compiling technology/software development policies and setting standard
  • To manage application assets and direct the development efforts within the enterprise to improve solution delivery and agility, work with EA peers to analyze enterprise business context (business strategy and trends), as well as change requirements in other enterprise architecture viewpoints (such as business, information and solution) to derive the technology architecture future state. This includes defining the requirements, principles and models that guide technology decisions for the enterprise.
  • To communicate TA concepts and tracking progress toward the future state
  • To run Architecture Review / Decision Board
  • To assume technical lead role in implementation projects and guide the work of the team.
  • To guide the creation and evolution of reusable technical patterns and control their usage.
  • To drive digital innovation by leveraging innovative new technologies and approaches to renovate, extend, and transform the existing core technology base and IT estate
  • To coach, mentor and collaborate with technical subject matter experts and EA peers to develop technology architecture that enables and drives new business capabilities and operating models.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong project delivery background (ideal7 years of hands on experience in system design, systems integration or software development as a senior developer / architect)
  • Strong knowledge of the processes of the entire software development and product life cycle: DevOps principles, patterns, UML, agile development practices
  • Deep technical knowledge in web-based systems architecture, service-based architecture, enterprise application architecture, cloud architecture as well as experience managing expectations when balancing alternatives against business and financial constraints.
  • Working Knowledge in Database technologies MS SQL and Oracle
  • Lead and guide development of an informatica based ETL architecture
  • Lead end to end design which includes integration with other services (Appian, Azure APIM and Adobe Experience Manager)
  • Track record of successful implementations that delivered value to the business, resulting in measurable business outcomes
  • Evaluate and design data collection, data staging, data movement, analytics delivery and data quality
