The D365 Technical Architect role is ideally based at our Global Head Office in Bath, UK. However we can consider candidates based near and commutable at our Leeds or Oldham sites.

This role is an 18 month Fixed Term Contract (FTC).

An exciting opportunity for a D365 Technical Architect to join the DRIVE programme at Rotork!

Responsibilities include overseeing the successful implementation of Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement and Finance & Supply Chain Management systems. Collaboration with IT teams and DRIVE peers is key to ensuring alignment with Microsoft best practices.

The role involves maintaining the global blueprint, updating standards, and ensuring a supported deployment. Candidates with CE or F&SCM expertise are welcome to apply, with a focus on technical architecture rather than functional consulting.

Key Responsibilities and Outcomes:

  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert for the D365 CE and F&SCM technical implementation required for DRIVE, including deployed Azure resources.
  • Lead the technical architecture and design on solutions built for D365 CE and F&SCM, considering business requirements, industry best practices, and technical feasibility.
  • Review the Microsoft Dynamics, Azure and Power Platform roadmaps and assess the impact on Rotork’s deployment, recommending and leading the delivery of required updates.
  • Understand integration requirements and collaborate with the Integration Architect to design cost-effective, performant integrations using standard, repeatable patterns to meet business needs.
  • Provide expert technical guidance and support to the development and support teams, troubleshooting complex issues and resolving incidents and technical challenges, and mentor junior team members.
  • Monitor D365 and Azure resources operation and execution, identifying bottlenecks and implementing solutions, including automated features, to ensure optimal performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Support the Lead Architect in ensuring adherence to IT governance and architecture policies and procedures and contribute to the D365 roadmap and DRIVE portfolio.

Qualifications

Technical Competence and Qualifications:

Required Experience

  • Fulfilled a role as a D365 Technical Architect within a mature IT organisation, with a record of designing complex Dynamics 365 solutions, implemented in-line with industry best practice.
  • Designed and built integrations using Azure services, connecting in-house developed and ISV solutions with D365.
  • Designed and built solutions using Power Platform services.
  • Hands-on experience of Microsoft technologies and services i.e. D365, Azure, Power Platform and designing secure solutions with these.
  • D365 administration knowledge using the Power Platform Admin Center and Lifecycle Services.
  • Extensive experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines and Application Lifecycle Management.
  • Acted as Technical Design Authority, reviewing and approving third-party solutions to ensure their fit to requirements and with industry best practices.
  • Worked in a hybrid-cloud environment utilising on-premises
