The Role

Norton is seeking a Technical Administrator to support Engineering Drawing Releases by managing and coordinating design documentation within CREO and Windchill. The ideal candidate will ensure that engineering drawings are properly controlled, updated, and released in accordance with company standards and industry best practices. This role requires strong technical proficiency, attention to detail, and the ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams.


Duties/Responsibilities

  • Manage the release process for engineering drawings, ensuring compliance with internal documentation control policies.
  • Administer CREO and Windchill databases, ensuring accurate storage, retrieval, and version control of CAD files and associated documents.
  • Facilitate drawing reviews and approvals by coordinating with engineers, designers, and other stakeholders.
  • Support Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), ensuring timely updates and releases.
  • Maintain and enforce best practices within Windchill for file organisation, metadata management, and revision control.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to CREO and Windchill, escalating complex problems as necessary.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to improve workflows, automation, and efficiency in the drawing release process.

Personal Specification

  • Critical requirement: Experience with CREO and Windchill PLM/PDM.
  • Preferred: Prior experience managing engineering drawing releases and document control (Within Chassis Or Powertrain)
  • Strong understanding of CAD file management, version control, and configuration management.
  • Familiarity with engineering change processes (ECR/ECO) in a PLM environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with engineers, designers, and manufacturing teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn new tools and systems as needed.
