An exciting opportunity is available for a Technical Administration Assistant to join our team. They will be responsible for providing comprehensive administrative support to the Engineering Group, assisting with all day-to-day admin tasks such as maintaining accurate records, preparing reports and documentation, and ensuring queries are dealt with promptly and professionally.
Responsibilities include:
- Support the Engineering Group with general administration and operational tasks.
- Assist with engineering part database management, including creating new parts and uploading documents.
- Assist with compiling necessary documentation and document control to support prototype product development, such as Bills of Materials and Product Family Trees.
- Assist with booking facilities for meetings with the team and external suppliers/customers.
- Ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements, such as RoHS, Conflict Minerals, and Country of Origin.
- Liaise with suppliers to obtain quotations and delivery updates for prototypes and small builds.
- Coordinate with other departments for prototype builds, re-work of materials, and inspections.
- Arrange material dispatch and manage stock outflows.
- Support the collation and creation of engineering project documents following company procedures.
- Create, amend, and manage Engineering Change Requests, Change Orders, Concessions, and Permits.
- Contribute to office maintenance and housekeeping.
- Use basic CAD features to provide administrative design support, such as creating component footprints and simple drawings.
- Handle technical documentation, including datasheets, safety datasheets, and regulatory information.
- Assist in drafting and proofreading documents like work instructions, procedures, and reports.
- Facilitate meetings by recording minutes and actions where appropriate.
- Perform other tasks as needed to support business operations.
Requirements
- Positive, friendly, can-do attitude.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in an administrative role.
- Experience working in an engineering environment or with procedural demands.
- Experience handling technical or complex documentation.
- Experience with databases, product management, or productivity systems.
- Advanced skills in MS Office, especially Excel and Word.
- Willingness to undertake further training and development.
- Comfortable handling technical information.
- Ability to obtain UK security clearance.
Desirable
- HND or degree in a relevant area (or equivalent qualification).
