Overview

Our client is seeking a Technical Accounting Manager to join their finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This key role involves providing expert technical accounting support, leading the implementation of new standards and disclosures, and supporting the preparation of statutory accounts and Board materials.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct technical research and draft papers on emerging accounting issues
• Support group reporting through financial analysis and review of performance data
• Prepare annual reports, annotated pages, and other Board-level financial documents
• Provide technical accounting guidance for internal projects and initiatives
• Liaise with Group reporting teams and external auditors to ensure alignment
• Oversee statutory accounts preparation for centrally managed subsidiaries
• Enhance internal controls and lead implementation of a new disclosure management system
• Act as primary point of contact for internal and external auditors
• Partner with Group Financial Reporting Manager to deliver departmental objectives
• Handle ad hoc responsibilities as required

Candidate Profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, ACMA or equivalent)
• Strong technical accounting experience, ideally from audit or advisory background
• Proven expertise in IFRS and UK GAAP
• Strong analytical, reporting, and consolidation skills
• Experience drafting technical accounting memos
• Resilient, adaptable, and able to deliver high-quality outputs under pressure
• Effective communicator with strong team leadership and stakeholder management skills
• Systems experience with SAP S4/HANA, Workiva, or Anaplan desirable
• Previous experience in aviation or a similar industry is an advantage
