Technical Accounting Lead - Pensions/ Actuary Exp

My client is seeking a Finance Manager specializing in Pensions Accounts to support the Head of Pension Risk. The role involves managing activities related to the operation, financial management, reporting, and risk management of the company's defined benefit pension scheme.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and enhance the pensions control framework to ensure audit compliance
  • Improve pensions models to meet audit standards
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual pension accounting and risk reporting, including disclosures
  • Assist in preparing documentation and attending meetings such as Pension Risk Forum, Pensions Committee, ALCO, and CF Trustee meetings
  • Prepare pension information for strategic planning (e.g., P21, ICAAP, stress testing)
  • Develop and monitor the pension scheme budget in collaboration with the trustee
  • Coordinate with professional advisors on actuarial valuations and audits
  • Review and recommend changes to actuarial assumptions
  • Engage with finance, capital management, trustees, and risk stakeholders
  • Contribute to the company's forward-looking business plans for the pension scheme
