Job description

Based within the Sheffield area and reporting to our Head Office in Milton Keynes, the Tech Support Application Engineer will be responsible for providing support and application advice as well as demonstrations to customers at site and carrying out in-house test welds.

Tasks and Responsibilities
Functional


- Providing support and application advice for customers
- MIG/MAG/TIG/MMAW knowledge
- Carrying out test welds and demonstrations
- Provide expert training for MIG/MAG/TIG/MMAW
- Commissioning of welding systems
- Providing email and telephone support for technical and welding queries/problems
- Create welding parameters for various applications
- Assisting with events (trade fairs, seminars, etc.)

Skills and Requirements


- Educational and technical training and/or relevant professional experience
- Good communication and teaching abilities
- Customer orientated attitude
- Team worker
- Flexibility (working hours and tasks arranged to suit customer requirements)
- IT skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel & Word)
- Welding certifications/Manual welding experience
- A valid driver's license is a requirement

The role will also involve

- Travel UK and Ireland daily, weekly
- Occasional travel overseas for business and training.
