Impact Expected

As the Technical Lead for the Onboard Experience Team, you will work with Android and full-stack engineers to develop software for autonomous vehicle operators. You will guide technical strategy, ensuring the development of reliable, scalable, and user-centric software to improve operational efficiency and in-vehicle experiences.

Challenges You Will Own
  • Technical Leadership: Define and guide the team’s technical vision, architecture, and implementation, aligning with organizational goals and best practices.
  • Collaboration and Innovation: Work cross-functionally to solve unique challenges and improve the onboard experience.
  • System Scalability and Reliability: Develop scalable, maintainable systems emphasizing testing, observability, and performance.
  • Developing for Unique Environments: Optimize solutions for in-vehicle compute and networking constraints in unpredictable city environments.
  • Hands-On Testing with Users: Test in vehicles, gather feedback, and refine software based on real-world use.
  • Safety and Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety and regulatory standards, delivering robust performance.
  • Innovation and Problem Solving: Leverage technical expertise to address complex operational challenges with user-focused solutions.
  • Fostering Growth: Promote a collaborative, knowledge-sharing culture to develop skills and engineering excellence.
About You
  • Technical Expertise: Experience designing and delivering complex systems, especially frontend (React, Typescript) and backend (Kotlin, Rust) integration at scale.
  • Strategic Leadership: Proven ability to lead technical decisions and contribute to architecture strategies aligned with company goals.
  • Collaborative Skills: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
  • Quality Focus: Commitment to high engineering standards, including testing, observability, and automation.
  • User-Focused Development: Focus on solutions tailored to user needs, informed by operational feedback.
  • Automotive Knowledge: Familiarity with in-vehicle systems like Android Auto or similar platforms.
  • API Development Expertise: Experience with gRPC or similar strongly typed APIs.
  • Interest in Autonomous Systems: Passion for AI, robotics, or autonomous vehicle tech; experience is a bonus.
  • Educational Background: Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
