Job description

Our client, a prominent London Market Insurance firm, is seeking a skilled Technical Lead to join their growing team. You will be responsible for overseeing the design, development, and implementation of technological solutions within the Reinsurance Segment. You will play a crucial role in supporting the integration of new syndicates and ensuring the overall robustness and scalability of their technical infrastructure.

Job Responsibilities
  • Lead the technical strategy and roadmap, ensuring alignment with the syndicate's business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Architect, design, and implement technology solutions that enhance underwriting, claims, policy administration, and reporting systems.
  • Oversee all stages of the software development life cycle (SDLC), from requirements gathering and system design to development, testing, and deployment.
  • Ensure adherence to best practices in system security, data governance, and Lloyd's market regulations.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with technical decisions and solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including underwriting, actuarial, finance, and operations to deliver high-quality technology solutions.
  • Conduct technical reviews and provide input on key architectural and design decisions.
  • Collaborate with compliance and audit teams to ensure the agency's IT systems can be and are successfully audited.
  • Keep abreast of emerging technologies and trends in the insurance industry, including Insurtech solutions, to identify opportunities for innovation.
Desired Skills
  • At least 3+ years of experience in PowerBuilder.
  • At least 5+ years of rigorous application development and hands-on experience using Microsoft technologies stack.
  • At least 5+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft .NET technologies and SQL Server.
  • Possess in-depth understanding of the multi-tiers application, serverless architecture, cloud computing, and database design.
  • In-depth experience with product/application development life cycle.
  • Proficiency in UI API development and integration.
  • Proficiency in UI design & business process design.
  • Proficient in working with large data and SQL Server.
  • Proficient in SQL Server Stored Procedure.
  • Strong DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and microservices architecture.
Desired Education/Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in information security, Computer Science, Management of Information Systems, or related field required - master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a combination of application development, architecture, or product manager role.
  • 5+ years of experience in a Reinsurance or Insurance organization working on building bespoke applications.
  • Experience working within the Lloyd's market or a deep understanding of Lloyd's syndicate operations is highly desirable.
