Job summary

CBSbutler Holdings Limited trading as CBSbutler is seeking a hands-on Technical Lead Software Engineer for a 6 month contract in a hybrid Leeds setting. The role focuses on leading the redevelopment of Profiles Manager, shaping architecture and cloud strategy, and delivering secure, scalable services and APIs.

You will guide engineers and architects, apply best practices in CI/CD with GitHub Actions, and drive automated testing and observability, while mentoring teams and managing stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Strong C# / .NET software engineering experience.
• Technical leadership of distributed systems, microservices and REST APIs.
• Strong Microsoft Azure experience.
• GitHub Actions, CI/CD and Terraform.
• Architectural design decisions and technical direction.
• AI-assisted development including GitHub Copilot.
• Secure development, automated testing, observability and production support.
• Experience with technical risk, delivery, mentoring and stakeholder management.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Hands-on leadership to mentor engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead redevelopment of Profiles Manager and supporting services.
• Provide technical direction while remaining close to the code.
