The Role

You will join as an Engineering Manager to lead a small, high impact research team focused on:

Video and point cloud compression

AI and ML applications such as Generative AI, intelligent edge, media indexing

Algorithm optimization for performance and visual quality

You will work closely with engineering, product, and commercial teams to ensure research outcomes are translated into practical and commercial solutions.

What You Will Do

• Lead research initiatives with real world product impact

• Guide and mentor a team of researchers

• Collaborate cross functionally to bring R&D outcomes into engineering pipelines

• Stay current with emerging trends, contribute to standards organisations, and present findings both internally and externally

What We’re Looking For

Must Have Skills:

• Strong understanding of data compression including lossy and lossless techniques, color spaces, and visual quality metrics

• Proficiency in Python and C++

• Understanding of parallel processing programming

• Solid grasp of the software development lifecycle

• Familiarity with standard developing organizations (SDOs)

Nice to Have Skills:

• Experience with visual quality assessment techniques

• Knowledge of TensorFlow , Generative AI , or media indexing

• Background in contributing to patents or published research

• Experience with standards organisations and conference presentations

• Comfortable with Agile workflows , JIRA, and Git version control
