Job summary

Academics in the Wirral is seeking a dedicated Secondary IT & Computer Science Teacher for a long-term supply role starting January. You will deliver engaging lessons across KS3-4, with potential KS5 opportunities for subject specialists, and ensure continuity and progression in a supportive school community.

You will plan, assess, and differentiate to meet diverse needs while building strong pupil outcomes. A UK QTS or QTLS and a relevant degree are required, along with an Enhanced DBS.

Qualifications

• QTS or QTLS with degree in CS/IT/Software Engineering or related discipline.
• Strong command of the UK National Curriculum for ICT/CS across KS3- KS4 including GCSE prep (OCR/AQA/Edexcel).
• Proven classroom management and ability to differentiate.
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willingness to apply.
• Willingness to commute around The Wirral.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of planning, marking, and delivering IT/CS lessons across KS3- KS4 (KS5 opportunities optional).
• Secure full department integration with consistent weekly hours starting January.
• Track pupil progress and prepare GCSE candidates for spring assessments/exams.
• Participate in departmental meetings and parents' evenings as required.
