SEN Outreach Tutor (Team Teach, PMVA Trained or Experienced SEN Tutor)
About the Opportunity
Prospero Teaching is seeking a skilled and compassionate SEN Outreach Tutor to provide tailored 1:1 education support to young people in and around Romford who are not attending school. As an Outreach Tutor, you will create, plan, and deliver bespoke lessons designed to bridge gaps in education and enhance student engagement and academic progress. This role is ideal for experienced tutors or teachers with Team Teach, PMVA training, or similar SEN qualifications, looking for a rewarding opportunity outside the traditional classroom environment.
Many of the students you will work with may have been out of education for an extended period, which can result in low self-esteem and disengagement from learning. Your role will be to help rebuild their confidence, re-engage them in learning, and restore structure to their daily routines. Prospero Teaching will support you every step of the way to monitor each student’s progress and ensure effective learning outcomes.
Location: In and around Romford
Position: SEN Outreach Tutor

Full Time/Part Time: Flexible (both full-time and part-time options available)
Minimum Rate of Pay: £25 per hour
Hours: Sessions typically range from 1 to 3 hours per session
Experience, Training, and Qualifications
Team Teach, PMVA, or equivalent training in managing challenging behaviour
Experience working with children with SEN, ideally 6+ months in a UK school setting
Up-to-date Safeguarding training (issued within the last year) is desirable, though not essential
To Be Eligible for This Role, You Must:
Have the right to work in the UK
Hold an enhanced DBS certificate (child barred list) registered with the online update service, or be willing to apply for a new DBS
Provide two professional references that cover the last two years, specifically relating to work with children
