Job description

Based in a local service centre, you will be responsible for managing the busy yard and team of yard operatives to ensure all targets are achieved and customer satisfaction is maintained.

Working alongside colleagues, you will be a great team player, taking pride in your workplace and working environment. You will ensure high standards are maintained while complying with company procedures and processes. Effective communication is essential to keep your Line Manager and Customers informed as required.

As a Foreperson, your duties will include:

1. Daily management of workshop and yard staff.
2. Organising returns, repairs, and management of stock in the yard.
3. Monitoring all off-hired equipment, ensuring repairs and damages are recorded according to company guidelines, and informing the Service Centre Manager.
4. Co-ordinating vehicle movements in, out, and around the yard.
5. Maintaining the yard and covered spaces, ensuring equipment is stored properly: 'ready for hire,' 'off-hired not checked,' and 'to be repaired.'
6. Ensuring the yard complies with health and safety standards and that the team follows relevant procedures.
7. Ensuring all equipment is repaired and maintained following manufacturers' guidelines.
8. Carrying out regular stock checks to ensure the accuracy of equipment counts.
9. Co-ordinating and managing the yard during stock takes.
