Job summary

Southampton City Council seeks a Team Standards Co-ordinator to maintain high standards and robust compliance across regulated homes and post-16 accommodation for children and young people. You will coordinate compliance processes, manage performance data, and support safer recruitment and inspection readiness.

You will work to ensure services remain compliant, audit-ready and continuously improved, delivering safe, high-quality homes and support for young people in our care.

Qualifications

  • Significant administrative experience within a regulated environment is essential.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail with accurate record keeping and audit trails.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Experience maintaining databases, tracking systems and producing reports.
  • Ability to analyse information and identify risks or improvements.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Understanding of confidentiality and data protection requirements.
  • Proactive, solution-focused approach to work.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate referrals, placements and associated documentation.
  • Monitor DBS checks, safer recruitment and key service deadlines.
  • Organise panels, audits, meetings and QA activities.
  • Maintain performance dashboards, trackers and MI.
  • Produce reports and analyse data to identify trends and risks.
  • Support financial administration, purchase orders and expenditure.
  • Assist managers with inspection readiness and evidence gathering.
  • Serve as central point of contact for colleagues, partners and stakeholders.
  • Support continuous improvement across the service.

Team Standards Co-ordinator - Regulated Homes

At Southampton City Council, we are committed to providing safe, high-quality homes and accommodation for children and young people. As our regulated services continue to grow, we are looking for a motivated, organised and detail-focused Team Standards Co-ordinator to join our Regulated Homes Service.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in ensuring our children's homes and post-16 accommodation services operate effectively, remain compliant and are always inspection-ready.

Working at the heart of the service, you will coordinate key compliance processes, maintain performance and quality assurance systems, manage referral and placement information, support safer recruitment activity, oversee service reporting and provide essential coordination across teams. Your work will directly support managers and frontline staff to deliver the best possible outcomes for children and young people.

The Team Standards Co-ordinator is responsible for supporting quality assurance, compliance, performance monitoring and operational coordination across our regulated homes and post-16 accommodation services.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Coordinating referrals, placements and associated documentation.

About You

We are looking for somebody who enjoys bringing structure to complex tasks, has excellent attention to detail and takes pride in delivering high-quality work.

You will have:

  • Significant administrative experience, ideally within children's services, social care or another regulated environment.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail with experience maintaining accurate records and audit trails.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Experience of maintaining databases, tracking systems and producing reports.
  • The ability to analyse information and identify areas of risk, concern or improvement.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A good understanding of confidentiality, safeguarding and data protection requirements.
  • A proactive and solution-focused approach to work.

Salary: The salary band for this role is £29,742 - £32,046 per annum. The starting salary is £29,742 with annual progression through the salary bands.
