This is aTeam Product Ownerrole which sits within the Trade Execution lab in the Markets Platform. The team is highly adaptable and support continuous change to keep up with evolving regulations, products and market trends. You’ll share your working environment with an energetic group of motivated people covering a highly significant area of processing to support business operations. The role on offer is demanding but extremely exciting, with new challenges presenting themselves regularly to stay current in the world post-trade processing.
What You'll Be Doing
The purpose of the Product Owner is the overall ownership for a single product backlog which contains 2-3 features, journeys or technology components. This role is responsible to oversee the release of incremental value within an overall product, with the primary aim of delivering value to customers and partners by ensuring the team focuses on the right priorities.
Role responsibilities:
Supports development of Lab or Team objectives and key results and provides product performance and benefits realisation data
Defines user-stories to meet customer needs
Works with Customer Journey Manager to analyse user stories for customer journey improvements
Shapes Product vision and roadmap at Lab or Team level
Prioritises, refines and manages Lab or Team Product backlog
Accountable for Product change governance (e.g., CMIA / SPFIA) and Business Readiness activities (e.g., training and comms, testing and readiness for implementation) for their respective features, journeys or technology components. Note: PO’s are accountable but activities to be delivered by the whole ‘team’.
Plays a role in developing capabilities within their functional area and invests in personal and team growth through mentoring and other informal methods
Works with Integrators when change is particularly large
Additional responsibilities for Technical Lab or Team Product Owners:
Owns and manages the product backlog for a Group-wide technology asset
Develops technical design for the product
Delivers against a product budget, performing financial and data analysis
Manages all product risk
Defines the segmentation and supplier strategy
Environment Planning and other technical activities
What You'll Need
You'll bring relevant experience, skills and qualifications in the following areas:
Knowledge and experience of working across business and engineering teams in a Financial Markets context
Good knowledge of post trade product lifecycle, with a focus on settlements and controls.
Excellent knowledge of the Markets business and the Trade Lifecycle
Significant experience in Financial services with experience in FX, Rates, Commodities or Structured products.
Senior leader capable of building relationships with senior partners
You'll influence positively - demonstrating the right values and behaviours while encouraging this within your team members.
