Peterborough City Council’s Young People’s Safeguarding Service seeks a Senior Practitioner or Team Manager to lead a multi-disciplinary team of social workers and youth practitioners in trauma-informed safeguarding for 12–17-year-olds at risk.

You will manage one of the three Young People's Safeguarding teams including senior practitioner, social workers and youth practitioners. Our work covers a wide remit within social care practice such as S17 assessments, strategy discussions, S47 investigations, care proceedings and CP. This role could be considered for an experienced Senior Practitioner looking to step up to the next level.
Our service, which includes our Exploitation and Missing Team, work alongside children aged 12-17 years who are assessed as being at risk from exploitation, mental health, edge of care, homelessness, substance misuse, and other risks outside the home. We are a diverse and dedicated team of professionals who provide a supportive environment for colleagues and encourage creativity in our work with young people.
We adopt a Trauma Informed approach and utilise our psychologists within the team to support our work. The voice of the child is central to all we do and we endeavour to get alongside families and utilise their family network with our support wherever possible.
You will work closely with partners from police, health, youth justice, housing and education to ensure a robust safeguarding response.
