Job description

We are looking to recruit a Team Manager - Support and Safeguarding Team within the Children's Social Care industry in Maidenhead, on a permanent basis paying GBP60,559 to GBP66,124 P/Annum.

Responsibilities include:

  • The Team Manager will provide the operational management and leadership support across the service supporting the Associate Director of Safeguarding and other Heads of Service.
  • They will be responsible for managing two Assistant Team Managers, Senior Practitioners and Social Workers.
  • The role will ensure high levels of quality interventions, effective case management oversight, decision making and overall performance in the best interest to children, young people and their families.
  • They will use AFC's social work practice model, Signs of Safety, agreed quality standards and operating procedures.
  • This role will represent AFC at operational and strategic multi-agency and other meetings as Appropriate.
  • The role will lead the team's professional development and have a strong understanding of the people's policies to maximise productivity, performance and achieve the best outcomes for children, young people and their families and our workforce's development.
  • In all roles across AFC the post holders will be expected to develop and lead a culture of partnership and innovation, so that services are child focussed, flexible and adaptable.

Experience preferred:

  • Proven experience leading and line-managing social work teams, including performance and change management
  • Extensive frontline safeguarding experience, including complex cases and court work
  • Skilled in supporting practitioners working with vulnerable children, young people, and families to deliver impactful interventions and care planning.
  • Strong track record of managing people, performance, and professional development to drive high-quality outcomes.
  • Experienced in multi-agency working and integrated approaches within the "Team Around the Child" framework.
  • Confident in quality assurance, case recording, monitoring, and using management information systems effectively
  • Sound understanding of risk management, safeguarding legislation, policies, and procedures Committed to equality, diversity, and anti-discriminatory practice-both in casework and team leadership.
  • Full driving license and daily access to a car for work purposes

Minimum Requirements:

  • Post qualified experience within the UK Social Care industry.
  • Enhanced DBS/CRB (we can obtain for you)
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • Active Social Work England registration and proven evidence of continuing professional development
