Job description

Our East London Clients are looking for experienced Team Managers to join their Safeguarding Teams.

About the role

The Team Manager will provide operational management and leadership support across the service, supporting the Associate Director of Safeguarding and other Heads of Service. They will manage two Assistant Team Managers, Senior Practitioners, and Social Workers.

The role ensures high-quality interventions, effective case management oversight, decision-making, and overall performance in the best interests of children, young people, and their families. They will utilize AfC's social work practice model, Signs of Safety, agreed quality standards, and operating procedures. The role also involves representing AfC at operational and strategic multi-agency meetings.

The Team Manager will lead the team's professional development and have a strong understanding of policies to maximize productivity, performance, and achieve the best outcomes for children, young people, families, and workforce development. The post holder is expected to foster a culture of partnership and innovation, ensuring services are child-focused, flexible, and adaptable. Learning from mistakes, sharing knowledge, and challenging existing practices are integral to the organization’s culture.
