Pertemps Profession Recruitment is seeking qualified and passionate Social Work Team Managers to lead a dedicated Duty Team. In this role, you will work in a busy, supportive team assessing and working with vulnerable children and their families, intervening where children need support to provide earlier help to vulnerable adults. The service maintains strong links with Integrated Prevention and Earliest Help colleagues to promote community support when social care intervention is no longer required. Successful candidates must be able to attend the locality 3 days per week; no negotiations on days.

Working in accordance with social care legislation and local government requirements, guided by the values and principles of social care, you will support the delivery of person-centred, safe, and effective social care services. Using your professional knowledge and experience, you will make assessments and decisions about appropriate interventions. Applying your significant social work experience and excellent communication skills, you will establish and maintain relationships with service users and agencies to ensure services meet identified needs.

You will be committed to ensuring positive and sustainable outcomes from your interventions. Using best practices, you will strive to provide the best outcomes for children. Most importantly, you will have a passion for supporting children and families to thrive and flourish. Our priority is to protect the most vulnerable and operate efficiently.

Perfect candidate will be:

  • SW, CSS, DipSW, or Social Work Degree; creative, flexible, and forward-thinking.
  • Experience working in a Social Services Directorate or other statutory or voluntary agency.
  • Constantly striving for continuous improvement to provide the best outcomes.
  • Excellent mediation and negotiation skills on behalf of service users.
  • Experience working with diverse client groups within an agency.
  • Skilled at building meaningful relationships with children and families.
  • Committed to high-quality service delivery.
  • Experienced in working within multi-disciplinary, interagency teams.
  • Knowledge of legislation relating to social work practice.
  • 4+ years qualified experience.

In this role, you will:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of risks, protection, and social care needs.
  • Manage an agreed caseload.
  • Utilize specialist communication skills to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Create individual care plans respecting diversity, dignity, and empowerment.
  • Provide advice and support to unqualified staff and students to aid their development.
