Your role:

If you are a qualified social worker, with 3 years post qualifying experience, looking for progression in a fast paced department, like a new challenge, want to be part of implementing new ways of working that we know will make a real difference and have a desire to motivate and empower children and families to achieve positive changes, then this is the job for you. You will be managing a team of Deputy Team Managers, Senior Social Workers and Social Workers to collaboratively secure good outcomes. You also need, when required to deputise for the Service Manager, attending meetings, provide relevant updates to senior managers etc.


About you:

You will need to have accredited social work professional status - Degree in Social Work and current registration with Social Work England, along with a current/valid DBS check. You will need to evidence any essential job related training i.e. management experience. You will need excellent negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to professionally challenge peers and partner agencies. You will be a confident decision maker who is able to make critical decisions using own initiative.. i.e. multi-task, be flexible in working style/approach, manage workload under pressure and meet competing deadlines.

We are also very fortunate to have our partner agencies situated with us - Police, Health, Education, CAMHS, Probation and Early Help to ensure informed partnership decisions are discussed and agreed for families. We are based in the town centre with access to free parking and a reduced membership cost to Wigan Well Being for the onsite pool/gym facilities.
