Job summary

Warwickshire County Council seeks a Team Manager for its Leaving Care Service. This role, covering both North and South county, is a permanent position for 22.2 hours per week. The team manager will oversee housing initiatives and guide a small team to support young people in care, making a significant impact on their lives.

About the Team:

Warwickshire’s Leaving Care Team, work with care experienced young people aged 16-25. The Leaving Care Team is a county wide service with offices in the North and the South of the county to enable access for all our young people.

About the Role:

Team Manager in our Leaving Care Service covering the North and South of the county for a 3 days a week (22.2 hours) Permanent post.

The details of the role are as follows:

  • Provide strategic oversight of ourSupported LodgingsandStaying Putschemes.
  • Manage and support a small team of experienced professionals, including:
  • Two Housing Advisorswho work directly with care-experienced young people to secure appropriate housing.
  • One Personal Advisorresponsible for assessing supported lodging providers, presenting them to panel, and overseeing Staying Put arrangements.
  • You will play a key role in ensuring that our young people are supported through strong multi-agency partnerships and innovative housing solutions.

Key Requirements:

  • A strong interest in housing and understands the challenges faced by care-experienced young people.
  • Is confident in leading and supporting a team.
  • Can build and maintain effective partnerships with key stakeholders, including theDepartment for Education,district and borough councils, andhousing providers.
  • Brings a proactive, solution-focused mindset to service development and delivery.
  • Experience in housing, social care, or youth services is desirable, but we are also open to candidates with transferable skills and a passion for making a difference.

Applicants for the role will need a professional Social Work qualification and Social Work England Registration.

This role requires employees to undergo Non-Police Personnel Vetting (NPPV). This process ensures that individuals who are not police staff but have physical or remote access to police premises, information, intelligence, financial, or operational assets are assessed for their reliability and integrity. This assessment determines their suitability for clearance to work within police premises.
