About the Role and our Ideal Candidate

Join Children Social Care as a Team Manager in our Leaving Care and Children Looked After Team. We offer a Golden Hello and a Recruitment and Retention Bonus, outlined as follows:

  • £1,000 paid with your first month's salary
  • £1,000 for your first completed year of service
  • £2,000 for your second completed year of service
  • £3,000 for your third completed year of service and each year thereafter

As a Team Manager, you will oversee the care and support provided to children in our care. Your responsibilities include:

  • Leading and managing a multidisciplinary team to deliver effective social care services for looked after children.
  • Ensuring child-centred interventions that prioritise the best interests of children and young people.
  • Overseeing assessment, planning, and review processes for looked after children.
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, policies, and professional standards.

You will foster a positive, inclusive team culture that encourages professional growth and continuous improvement. Your role involves overseeing care planning, quality assurance, and team work, chairing meetings, and collaborating with multi-agency professionals to safeguard children and young people. This role offers challenges in a dynamic environment, allowing you to expand your skills in children’s social care. This position is ideal for existing team managers and experienced social workers with excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach, capable of managing high emotional distress. We welcome applications from candidates with childcare experience and a passion for person-centred care.

All suitable candidates should:

  • Be registered with Social Work England and hold a degree in Social Care or equivalent.
  • Have experience working with children in a care environment.
  • Possess significant experience leading and managing multidisciplinary teams.
  • Have sound knowledge and ability to deliver social work support to service users and families.
  • Be able to communicate complex social issues clearly to both clients and professionals.
  • Be able to plan and coordinate social care plans and discharge processes.
