Team Manager (L4), Ring Data Engineering Services

Key job responsibilities

As Team Manager, you will be responsible for:

  1. Managing a team of ML Data Associates.
  2. Executing plans for the team to handle multiple ML queues within a defined process area.
  3. Identifying risks and ensuring proper escalation; maintaining confidentiality and compliance.
  4. Meeting SLAs and task completion targets for specific queues within capacity limits.
  5. Collaborating with internal and external teams to achieve business goals.
  6. Analyzing data to highlight trends and gaps; reporting key metrics.
  7. Presenting data during business meetings and reviews.
  8. Designing and implementing process improvement projects affecting team performance; participating in new workflow rollout projects.
  9. Providing guidance on work types and prioritization; managing straightforward objectives as well as ad hoc requests.
  10. Creating and implementing performance improvement plans for associates; offering regular coaching and feedback on quality, performance, behavior, and career development.
  11. Managing team performance based on metrics and deliverables.
  12. Holding team members accountable for performance, adherence to rules, and guidelines.
  13. Supporting hiring and training of new Associates.
A day in the life

As Team Manager, you will be responsible for:

  1. Managing & monitoring performance on job or queue adherence, volume, and quality.
  2. Supporting hiring and training of new Associates.
  3. Ensuring productivity is maximized through supervision, training, analysis, and feedback of performance data periodically.
  4. Tracking quality and utilization metrics.
  5. Providing regular, formal & informal feedback to direct reports.
  6. Identifying and helping implement process-related improvements using methodologies.
  7. Communicating effectively.
About the team

The Artificial General Intelligence Data Services (AGI DS) mission is to provide high-quality labeled data at high-speed and low-cost for machine learning (ML) technologies.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor Degree (Any Stream) or advanced college education or experience in a Leadership or related position with management.
  • Proficiency in verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in understanding performance metrics and developing them to measure progress against key performance indicators.
  • Overall 4+ years of work experience, including at least 1+ year of people management experience.
  • Proven ability to drive process improvements in previous roles.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with process improvement/quality control tools and methods.
  • Ability to lead diverse talent, work cross-functionally, and build consensus on difficult issues.
  • Excellent communication, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Interest in hiring and developing team members.
  • Leadership experience in coaching and performance management.
  • Experience managing process and operational escalations.
  • Experience with speech and language technology is a plus.
