Job summary

Cambridgeshire County Council is seeking an experienced Team Manager to join its Families First Service, delivering high-quality social work practice with children and families. The role involves assessment, intervention, safeguarding, and care planning within a multidisciplinary team.

You will lead on court work and care proceedings, manage risk, and promote positive outcomes through relationship-based practice and effective partnership working with families and agencies.

Qualifications

• Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.
• Significant experience within Children's Social Care.
• Strong safeguarding and risk management experience.
• Experience of court work and care proceedings.
• Ability to complete high-quality assessments, reports, and care planning.
• Excellent communication and partnership-working skills.
• This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975.
• A DBS check may be applicable; applicants should declare cautions/convictions not protected.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with children, families, wider support networks, and partner agencies.
• Promote strengths-based and relationship-focused practice across the service.
