This is an exciting time for us and we are looking for an energetic, compassionate, creative Team Manager who has the right values, experience and leadership to help navigate our course to making East Renfrewshire the best place to flourish.

The post holder will be responsible for delivering operational social work services to adults and their families in line with national legislation and best practice guidance.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver operational social work services to adults and their families in line with national legislation and best practice guidance.
  • Manage, administer and develop operational social work services in accordance with national and local standards/policies.
  • Provide effective staff supervision, development and leadership, including caseload weighting.
  • Contribute to Adult Support and Protection, planning for Adult services and support the ongoing implementation of local service redesign.
  • Apply knowledge of and commitment to Self Directed Support principles in daily practice.
  • Be involved in financial and other resource management, performance management and service development.
  • Promote targeted interventions for adults and their families within our integrated model of health and social care.
  • Support colleagues in the development of initiatives, plans and policies related to high standards of service provision.

Qualifications and experience

  • Applicants will hold a professional social work qualification and demonstrate considerable social work experience.
  • Previous supervisory experience and excellent organisational, analytical and communication skills.
  • A post registration management qualification will be an advantage.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. It is an offence to apply if you are barred from working with children and protected adults. In addition, if you have lived or worked in any country outside the UK in the past 10 years, there may be a requirement for an overseas police check.

This post requires Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) registration. You must currently have registration or eligibility to apply from commencement of employment (you must apply to register within the first 3 months of employment to ensure registration is complete within 6 months of starting in your role).
