Job summary

Fresh Direct in Bicester, Oxfordshire, is seeking a Warehouse Team Manager to lead a busy warehouse team. The role is 40 hours per week with a Wed-Sun shift pattern and rests on Mon/Tues, based at the Bicester depot.

You will drive safety and performance through strong communication and teamwork. You will plan workloads with the shift manager, develop staff capabilities and ensure KPIs are met, while managing administrative tasks and maintaining accuracy in all paperwork in a cool environment

If you are as ambitious as we are and you’re looking to progress a career in warehouse operations, join us as a Warehouse Team Manager at our Fresh Direct (a Sysco Company) Depot in Bicester, Oxfordshire.

You’ll be responsible for ensuring your team of warehouse operatives are working safely and efficiently, and that key targets are being achieved. You will lead by example and drive high performance through great communication, teamwork and building strong working relationships. You will work closely with the shift manager to plan workload and resource effectively, as well as developing the skills of your team members to support their career aspirations and increase shift capability. There’s paperwork and administration to complete as part of this role, so you’ll need an eye for detail, and be able to work accurately and in a timely manner.

You will enjoy working in a busy role which requires you to think on your feet and pro-actively problem solve - dealing with operational challenges as they arise, escalating to more senior managers if necessary. You will want to make a difference and proactively look for ways to make improvements and challenge current ways of working.

To join us as a Warehouse Team Manager you will have previous experience of leading a team in a fast paced, time pressured environment in food environment or related field. Experience within a warehouse operation would be advantageous. Proven track record in performance management and achieving KPIs. What’s key is your ability and desire to learn - understanding the business and operation quickly. Knowledge of performance management and managing your team effectively. Be computer literate and effective working with Microsoft package.As well as an eye for detail, you’ll need to be comfortable in a cool environment (we’ll provide a free thermal uniform to keep you warm), be able to lift weights of up to 25kg and ideally have your own transport to get here.
