Location: North Wales
Pay rate: £47 per hour
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Social Work Team Manager to lead a dedicated Corporate Parenting Team. In this role, you will discharge the authority’s responsibilities under the Children Act 1989 and other relevant legislation concerning children in need, particularly those requiring protection and those in care.
Working in accordance with social care legislation and local government requirements, and guided by the values and principles of social care, you will support the delivery of person-centred, safe, and effective social care services. Using your professional knowledge and experience, you'll make assessments and decisions about the most appropriate interventions. Applying your significant Social Work experience and excellent communication skills, you'll establish and maintain relationships with service users and other agencies to ensure services meet identified needs.
You will be committed to ensuring positive and sustainable outcomes from your interventions. Using best practices, you'll strive to provide the best outcomes for children. Most importantly, you’ll have a passion for supporting children and their families to thrive and flourish. Our priority is to protect the most vulnerable and to operate as efficiently as possible.
Ideal candidate will be:

  • Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
  • Experienced in working with children and families, including vulnerable groups.
  • Experience working within Court, Children in Need, and Child Protection.
  • Creative, flexible, and forward-thinking in approach.
  • Knowledgeable of Child Protection legislation and child protection issues.
  • Committed to continuous improvement to achieve the best outcomes for children.
  • Able to use excellent mediation and negotiation skills on behalf of service users.
  • Highly skilled at building meaningful relationships with children and families to engage them in assessments and plans.
  • Dedicated to providing high-quality services to our users.
  • Experienced in working within a multi-disciplinary, interagency environment.
  • Over 2 years of qualified experience.

In this role, you will:

  • Utilize your skills, knowledge, and experience to conduct comprehensive assessments of risks, protection needs, and social care requirements.
  • Manage an agreed caseload.
  • Employ specialist communication skills to achieve optimal outcomes for service users.
  • Develop individual care plans that consider diversity and promote dignity and empowerment.
