Job description

Team Manager (Childrens Short Breaks) | 8808 | Permanent Contract | 37 hours per week | £50,166 to £54,277 per annum | Grade L | Norwich

Are you passionate about making a difference for children with disabilities and their families? Norfolk County Council is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to lead our Short Breaks team within the Partnerships, Schools and Communities service.

As the Short Breaks Team Manager, you will be responsible for the operational leadership of a dedicated team, ensuring high-quality service delivery that meets statutory requirements and supports families across Norfolk. You will manage a multi-million-pound budget, oversee care planning, and ensure equitable access to short breaks for children and young people with disabilities.

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate a competent level of knowledge and skills in:

  • Short breaks for children with disabilities
  • SEND policy and practice
  • Continuing care frameworks
  • Strategic financial management and budget oversight

You will need proven strong leadership and communication skills, a sound understanding of relevant legislation including the Children Acts 1989 and 2004, and experience in managing staff performance and service development. The role requires collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure the service remains responsive and effective.
