What You Will Do:

  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of social workers and care professionals, ensuring best practices and high-quality service delivery.
  • Case Management: Oversee complex cases, including assessments, care planning, and risk management, ensuring that each child receives the support they need.
  • Safeguarding: Ensure adherence to safeguarding protocols and promote the welfare and protection of children.
  • Service Delivery: Implement and maintain compliance with key legislation, including the Children Act 1989 and the Care Act 2014.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with families, healthcare providers, educational institutions, and external agencies to deliver comprehensive and effective care.
  • Performance Management: Evaluate and monitor team performance, providing regular supervision and fostering professional development.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Qualifications: A degree in Social Work or an equivalent qualification and current registration with Social Work England.
  • Experience: Significant experience in children's services, ideally within a Children with Disabilities team, with proven leadership and supervisory capabilities.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of relevant legislation, safeguarding procedures, and multi-agency collaboration.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills, with the ability to manage complex caseloads effectively.
