Team Manager - Children with Disabilities - Grade 16 £58,692 - £60,819

Team Manager – Children with Disabilities – Croydon Council

Permanent – 36 hours per week
Welcome Payment - £10,000
Retention Payment – £5,000

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Team Manager to join us and support our extremely talented team of Social Workers to drive the service forward. You will lead and manage the performance of a team and foster a culture of continuous learning and reflection of practice that inspires staff to give their best in their roles.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and manage performance of a team of social workers.
  2. Introduce, embed and continually improve the quality of social work consistent with established models of good practice.
  3. Provide professional advice to staff, colleagues, and partners.
  4. Ensure assessments and plans for children are robust, evidence-based, and timely.
  5. Allocate cases effectively matching risk/complexity with staff skills.
  6. Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and Croydon practice standards.
  7. Contribute to the development and introduction of a quality assurance framework.
  8. Manage and contribute to projects that deliver service improvement.
  9. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant research and legislation.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
  2. Working knowledge of national policy and strategy regarding children’s social care.
  3. Able to lead improvement in social work practice through effective performance management.
  4. Experience of leading and managing operational change effectively.
  5. Experience managing childcare social workers with evidence of good outcomes.
