Job summary

Southwark Council is seeking a Team Manager for the Care 0-16 Service to provide strong leadership to a team of social workers and senior social workers supporting children in care aged 0-16. You will oversee high-quality care and permanence planning, safeguarding activity and ensure plans progress with the voices of children at the centre.

You will supervise practitioners, offer reflective supervision and partner with families and agencies to drive positive outcomes.

Qualifications

• Social work qualification and current registration with Social Work England.
• Significant experience in statutory children's social care.
• Experience leading, supervising and developing practitioners.
• Strong knowledge of care planning, permanence and safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Provide strong, visible leadership to a team of social workers and senior social workers.
• Oversee high-quality care planning, permanence planning and safeguarding.
• Deliver relationship-based interventions with reflective supervision.
• Work with partner agencies, carers and families to progress plans without delay.
