Job summary

Shropshire Safeguarding Community Partnership invites applications for an Independent Chair to lead scrutiny of adult safeguarding arrangements in Shropshire. The role will bring independent views, challenge and enquiry to enhance learning and ensure statutory duties under the Care Act are met.

You will work across the partnership, produce reports, comment on assurance and performance, and assess the effectiveness of safeguarding arrangements to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Independent Chair with ability to provide insight, challenge and independent views.
• Ability to scrutinise safeguarding arrangements and promote a practice-learning culture.
• Experience with statutory responsibilities under the Care Act.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent challenge, enquiry and investigation to assist the Partnership in fulfilling its statutory responsibilities under the Care Act.
• Work across Shropshire to provide reports, comment on assurance and performance, and evaluate partnership effectiveness.

Job description

The Shropshire Safeguarding Community Partnership (SSCP) are looking to appoint an Independent Chair who can provide insight, challenge, independent views and scrutiny of the effectiveness of our adult safeguarding arrangements and the extent to which we are embedding a practice-learning culture for adults with care support needs in Shropshire.
The core responsibility of this role is to provide independent challenge, enquiry, and investigation to assist the Partnership in fulfilling its statutory responsibilities under the Care Act. Working as part of the partnership, the Chair will work across Shropshire providing reports, commenting on assurance and performance, and evaluating the effectiveness of partnership arrangements.
