The Brunton Theatre Trust has been through a period of significant challenge with the closure of the Brunton Theatre, its iconic home in Musselburgh. The Trust has responded to this proactively, moving its programme to Haddington Corn Exchange, Loretto Theatre in Musselburgh and North Esk Church in Musselburgh and has a new office base in Haddington. In January 2025 the Trust was awarded Multi-Year Funding for 2025-2028 from Creative Scotland and has ambitious plans for the future, including improvements to the Corn Exchange while working with the Council to secure a future for the Arts in Musselburgh. On that basis experience of capital development in Arts venues would be beneficial.

Applicants must have a proven track record of arts, events and venue management, programming, delivery and marketing. The Team Manager will work closely with the Trust to appoint external support for artistic planning in the first 6-12 months in the role. A good knowledge of the Scottish Arts sector and experience of successful fundraising are essential requirements. Excellent communication skills and experience of strategic, partnership working are also required.

This is fantastic opportunity for the right creative person to help shape the future of the Arts for our expanding East Lothian communities. Applicants are encouraged to speak to Trustees in advance of applying; this can be arranged by emailing contact details to theatreadmin@eastlothian.gov.uk.

Home / Hybrid Working Consideration
Applications for homeworking or hybrid working will be considered for this post, subject to a trial period and in accordance with East Lothian Council's Home Working and Worksmart Policies which can be found here . Home or Hybrid working options can be discussed with candidates invited for interview.
