Why join us

Joining us as a Warehouse Team Manager in our Local Fulfilment Centre (LFC) offers an opportunity to significantly impact our customers' experience. As a leader, you will play a crucial role in fostering a culture where colleagues thrive and deliver exceptional service. You will have the chance to develop and inspire a diverse team, driving engagement while embodying our values. Focused on customer satisfaction and continuous improvement, you will have the autonomy to make decisions that positively influence business results. In our fast-paced, collaborative environment, we value inclusivity, diversity, and team well-being. Join us to be part of a team that embraces change, fosters growth, and prioritizes outstanding results, ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.

What you'll do

Your primary responsibility will be to deliver exceptional service to our customers by leading a team within the LFC warehouse. You will focus on meeting legal and budgetary requirements while ensuring customer satisfaction through agreed SLAs. Leading by example, you will foster engagement and uphold our values within your team, maintaining open and effective communication. Your customer-centric approach will prioritize customer needs in all operational activities and decisions. You will manage and coach colleagues, driving their performance to achieve targets, and collaborate with other teams within the LFC to deliver site results. You will also be responsible for maintaining health and safety standards, planning resource activities, and ensuring stock accuracy and security. By engaging and inspiring your colleagues, managing and developing your team, and responding effectively to customer demands, you will cultivate a positive culture where colleagues enjoy working and contribute to the overall success of the LFC.

Who you are

You are a highly skilled leader with expertise in warehouse and retail operations. Your knowledge of multi-drop delivery and final mile customer delivery enables you to prioritize customer needs and foster a team culture where colleagues understand the impact of their actions on service and business results. You have a proven track record of leading large, diverse teams in unionized environments, demonstrating effective decision-making, strong communication, and active listening skills. Your inclusive leadership style champions diversity, motivates colleagues at all levels, and maintains a customer-centric mindset to achieve desired customer outcomes.

What’s in it for you?

We offer a supportive, family-like environment with helpful management. As part of a Sainsbury’s-owned multi-brand retailer, there are many opportunities to develop your career across different areas of the business.

Our benefits include:

  • 10% discount at Sainsbury’s, Argos, Tu, and Habitat after four weeks; increasing to 15% at Sainsbury’s on Fridays and Saturdays, and 15% at Argos on paydays.
  • Food and hot drinks provided in colleague areas across all LFCs.
  • Generous holiday entitlement, maternity, and paternity leave.
  • Matching 4-7% pension contributions.
  • Sainsbury’s share scheme for investment at discounted rates.
  • Wellbeing support, including emotional support, counseling, legal, and financial advice.
  • Colleague networks to connect with like-minded peers and fulfill your potential.
  • Cycle to Work scheme for hiring bikes and cycling equipment, with tax and NI savings.
  • Special offers on gym memberships, restaurants, holidays, retail vouchers, and more.
