Overview

Ceredigion County Council's Youth Service is a vibrant and forward-thinking team committed to supporting young people's personal, social and educational development. We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Team Manager to lead our Youth Work and Engagement team and help shape the future of youth services in Ceredigion. This is a key leadership role within the Through Age and Wellbeing model, supporting integrated, person-centred services across the county. You'll manage a team of passionate youth workers, support staff and volunteers delivering targeted and universal youth work in schools and communities. You'll also be the lead officer for the Children and Communities Grant (approximately £2.5m), overseeing strategic planning, monitoring and reporting to Welsh Government, and ensuring funding is used innovatively to support children, families and communities.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop youth work programmes including school-based support, children's rights and participation, digital youth work and Welsh language provision.
  • Represent the Council at local, regional and national youth work forums.
  • Work collaboratively across departments and with external partners to deliver high-impact services.
  • Support the delivery of national priorities including the Youth Work Strategy, Youth Engagement and Progression Framework, and the Wellbeing of Future Generations Act.
  • Oversee the Children and Communities Grant (approx. £2.5m) with strategic planning, monitoring and reporting to Welsh Government, ensuring funding supports children, families and communities effectively.

Where you'll work

Porth Cymorth Cynnar - Community Wellbeing and Learning. We provide early help, prevention and intervention services to a range of groups and individuals across the County. Our key functions include Lifelong Learning and Skills, Leisure & Wellbeing, Early Intervention Services, Support and Prevention Services, and the Ceredigion Pupil Referral Unit Penmorfa. Penmorfa is our central office where the Chief Executive and Councillors are based. Aberaeron is another location in the county with its own facilities.
