Job summary

Park Avenue is seeking an experienced Major Development Team Manager on an interim basis to lead a newly established Major Development Team. The role focuses on large-scale strategic development across a South West borough, with hybrid working and roughly one day per week in the office.

You will oversee a team including a Principal Planner and Senior Planner, manage major applications and PPAs, and work with senior management to shape a fast-paced growth authority.

Qualifications

• Experience leading large major and strategic planning projects.
• Ability to lead a multidisciplinary team including contractors.
• Experience in growth authorities and PPAs (Planning Performance Agreements).

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of large major and strategic planning applications.
• Lead a team consisting of a Principal Planner, Senior Planner and contractor resource.
• Maintain momentum across major development and infrastructure projects.
• Work closely with the Strategic and Local Plan Team as the authority progresses towards Regulation 19 consultation.
• Establish and manage Planning Performance Agreements (PPAs) for major applications.
• Attend Planning Committee, member briefings and corporate meetings.
• Collaborate with senior management, including the Director of Growth and Development Management management team.
• Help shape and establish a new Major Development Team within a fast-paced growth authority.

I am currently working with a Council in the South West who are seeking an experienced Major Development Team Manager to join their team on an interim basis and lead a newly established Major Development Team focused on large-scale strategic development across the Borough.

The Role:

As Major Development Team Manager, you will:

• Lead a team consisting of a Principal Planner, Senior Planner and contractor resource
