Job summary

Croydon Council is seeking an experienced Team Manager level social worker for the Adult Social Care Mental Health Service in Croydon. The role offers autonomy and the opportunity to model best practice while supporting staff at all levels.

The post reports to the Service Manager and requires commitment to training to qualify as an Approved Mental Health Professional; knowledge of forensic mental health and social supervision is highly desirable, with hybrid working available.

Qualifications

• Advanced social worker at Team Manager level with autonomy and high standards.
• Knowledge and experience of Forensic Mental Health Social Work Practice and Social Supervision desirable.
• Approval as an Approved Mental Health Professional desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision and support to social workers, practitioners and students.

Hours of work: 36 hours per week

Location: Croydon

The above role operates within that context.

Following an organisational restructure in Adult Social Care Mental Health Service, opportunities to step into the role of a Team Manager has become available.

The position offers excellent opportunities for an advanced social worker at Team Manager Level with considerable expertise, skills and experience to work autonomously, demonstrating and modelling exemplary standards of practice, supporting social workers at all levels, non-qualified practitioners and students within the service.

The post will report to the Service Manager Adult Social Care Mental Health Service.

Applicants (if not qualified as an Approved Mental Health Professional) will need to demonstrate a firm commitment to undertake all relevant trainings to qualify and be approved as an Approved Mental Health Professional.

Knowledge and Experience of Forensic Mental Health Social Work Practice and Social Supervision will be highly desirable.
