Job summary

Reed in Partnership is seeking a Team Manager to lead a team of Employment Specialists within the Connect to Work programme in the UK. You will drive performance, coach staff, manage relationships with partners and funders, and report on KPIs while ensuring high-quality service delivery and positive participant outcomes.

The role requires a track record in people management, setting and achieving targets, and delivering continuous improvement in a high-volume environment.

Qualifications

  • Previous direct line management of a team.
  • Experience in a sales, customer service or recruitment industry.
  • Track record of working and achieving targets personally as well as managing team targets.
  • Experience in people management including training, coaching, performance management and recruitment.
  • Strong administration and IT skills.
  • Assertiveness, resilience and good decision making skills.
  • A minimum of 2 A-Levels or an equivalent Level 3 Diploma.
  • GCSE English Language at a minimum of a Grade B (or equivalent Level 2 qualification). OR achievement of a Level 2 in Literacy Assessment at interview stage.

  • People Motivation, Coaching and Development: ensure the smooth running and productive dynamics of the team by acting as a lynchpin between key roles.
  • Performance Management and Delivery: manage the team to exceed performance targets and address blocks in the participant journey.
  • External Relationships and Stakeholder Management: maintain relationships with fund holders, referral sources, partner organisations and stakeholders.
  • Finance and Facilities: ensure financial resources and facilities of the office are maintained.
  • Quality and Continuous Improvement: contribute to service delivery improvements to enhance productivity and outcomes.

What is this role about?

A Team Manager leads a team of Employment Specialists in the provision of services to support caseloads of jobseekers into employment on the Connect to Work programme.

The role is responsible for managing the performance, productivity and wellbeing of this team and supports the team through observation, coaching and development to exceed their targets; resolving escalated complaints; ensuring the maintenance of key relationships with partners and timely reporting of key performance indicators (KPI’s).

Just some of your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
  • People Motivation, Coaching and Development
    The Team Manager ensures the smooth running and productive dynamics of the team by acting as a lynchpin between all key roles involved in the participant journey towards sustained employment.
  • Performance Management and Delivery
    A Team Manager manages the team to focus on all elements of the participant journey to sustainable employment, identifying and overcoming blocks, obstacle or inefficiencies in the process through observation and analysis, ensuring that performance targets are exceeded.
  • External Relationships and Stakeholder Management
    A Team Manager ensures that their team maintains constructive and effective internal relationships with other functions and departments and a positive set of relationships with fund holders, referral sources, partner organisations and political stakeholders in the wider community.
  • Finance and Facilities
    A Team Manager is responsible for ensuring the financial resources and facilities of their office are maintained in good order.
  • Quality and Continuous Improvement
    A Team Manager contributes constructively to the overall development of our service delivery, suggesting and making improvements continually to enhance productivity, the customer service experience and the quality of our claims and participant outcomes.
