From establishing safety arrangements to checking the quality of work, you'll direct and inspire the success of a team involved in everything from inspection and faulting, through to maintenance and renewal.

Note: There may be a requirement to work on call if you opt to take the GTRM IMC25 contract.

About the role (External)

We'll look to you to direct, organise, and motivate a high-performing team. You will play a hands-on role in inspection, faulting, maintenance, and renewal activities. Ensuring work is completed efficiently and to the highest standards is paramount. Safety will be a priority; you'll establish appropriate safety arrangements and ensure that Network Rail staff and contractors follow safe systems of work. You'll proactively control and check the quality of work and the competence of your team, ensuring assets are fully compliant and that all vehicles, plant, tools, equipment, and materials are fit for purpose. Additionally, you will compile a range of vital reports.

  • Experience in organising and controlling the safe and efficient delivery of work
  • Excellent communication skills, both in person and in writing
  • Knowledge of discipline-specific maintenance, inspection, faulting, and renewal techniques
  • Knowledge of relevant standards, procedures, and instructions
  • Strong leadership skills with a clear and inspirational direction
  • Hold or be working towards an NVQ level 2 or 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant subject, or have attained the appropriate level of knowledge through relevant experience
  • Ability and willingness to drive vehicles as required

This role involves working days, nights, and weekends. It is a safety-critical role, subject to drug and alcohol testing and passing the relevant medical assessment.
