Job summary

CAF Rail UK is seeking a Team Leader to manage a small team of Technicians, prioritise tasks, and organise warranty repairs.

You will diagnose faults across electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, using diagnostic software and test equipment, while liaising with customers to ensure train availability and reliability targets are achieved.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in electrical/ mechanical engineering (or equivalent) plus extensive post qualifying experience.
• Wide knowledge of on-board train systems.
• Experience detecting faults and performing root cause analysis across multiple systems.
• Ability to interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics and use diagnostic software and testing equipment.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to work varied shifts including weekends and both day and night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small team of Technicians and prioritise tasks and organise warranty repairs.
• Diagnose faults and conduct root cause analysis for an advanced fleet across electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Liaise with customers to ensure train availability and reliability targets are met.

What will your role be in the company?

As Team Leader, you will be relied upon for technical support, working alongside a team of Technicians todiagnose faults and conduct root cause analysis for an advanced fleetacross a range of systems(electrical, pneumatic & hydraulic), using a combination of electrical schematics, test equipment, and diagnostic software.

What will make you successful?

To succeed in the role,you’rea natural communicator and collaborator with the ability to motivateothersto drive for results. Youhavean NVQ Level 3 in electrical/ mechanical engineering (or equivalent) plusextensive post qualifyingexperience under yourbelt, andcandemonstratea wide knowledge of on-board train systems.

You have experience in detecting faults and carrying out root cause analysis across multiple systemsandare capable of interpretingelectrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematic diagrams, as well as being proficient in using diagnostic software, and test and measuring equipment.You hold a validdriver's licenseand havea flexible approach to working varying shiftsincluding weekends, and both day and night shifts.
