Job summary

Bloomberg L.P. is seeking a Team Leader Solution Engineer within Enterprise Services to guide a skilled team of client-facing developers delivering programming and best practice consultation for Bloomberg's Enterprise Data products.

You will lead client engagements, collaborate with sales and service delivery, and drive adoption of digital transformation and data integration initiatives while mentoring engineers to address highly technical challenges.

The Role:

As a Team Leader you’ll be leading a team of passionate, motivated and highly technical Solution Engineers, who provide programming and best practice consultation directly to our internal and external clients for the integration of our Enterprise Data products and services. You’ll be a quick study, eager to develop your understanding of the Bloomberg Enterprise Products and our customer base, in order to lead your team on client engagements as well as provide a third tier of technical expertise for complex issues. You’ll drive the partnership at the management level with other teams to understand client requirements, communicate product improvements, and assist with all client development needs. You’ll lead the group on adopting and embracing our cultural and innovative best practices, solutions and guide your team to be able to quickly and accurately identify and address highly technical problems. You’re a programming and management professional who is personable, intelligent and analytical, able to get results by working closely with team members and colleagues around the organization but are also not afraid of getting your hands dirty and making independent decisions when the situation demands.

We’ll Trust You To:

• Lead a strong team of experienced client facing developers who are at the forefront of technical business engagements building credibility with our users and establishing Bloomberg as the premier technical service partner during the pre-sale and in ongoing relationships
• Understand big picture roadmaps and strategies to achieve long term goals such as Digital Transformation, Cloud adoption and complex data integration.
• Collaborate with peers, sales, technical account managers and service delivery teams to drive critical client on-boarding initiatives, technology partnerships and highly technical projects.
• Proactively identify ideas to help drive stronger product performance and implement those ideas from inception to completion.
• Build relationships with senior and executive level client technologists by speaking their language and relating to them at the solution and technology level
• Be creative in your approach to problems and curious about different paths we can take to success even more so when we run into roadblocks. You will need to apply your experience to help your team and our clients achieve their goals.

You’ll Need to Have:

• Strong client facing experience, be presentable & able to articulate complex technical concepts to all skill levels.
• Development leadership experience in guiding and mentoring highly technical team members and helping them to spot gaps and seize opportunities.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple technical streams/lead client engagements whilst collaborating across different teams
• 10+ years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (Python, Java, C++, C#).
• Hands on experience with Big Data, Data Science and Public Cloud technologies is a plus.
• Bachelor's degree (preferably MSc) in Computer Science or Information Systems.
• Industry experience in development or implementation of real time market data applications and related API’s.
• Experience with other market data providers and their platforms is a plus
• Confident to work with clients ranging from application developers to CTOs.

We’d Love to See:

• Exposure and understanding of Financial Data, especially Real Time Market Data is helpful
• Experience in architecting, designing and operationalization of large-scale data and analytics solutions
• Knowledge of financial markets and levels of urgency for critical data needs
• Exposure to modular designs with a focus on reliability and scalability.
• Commercial Product development.
