Job description

Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Team Leader/Site Supervisorto support the delivery of repairs and maintenance services across both housing and non-housing properties throughout the city.

This role is essential in ensuring materials are delivered efficiently from the clients workshops to sites, supervising a multi-skilled team of tradespeople, and maintaining high standards in service delivery. You will play a key part in managing the day-to-day operations, ensuring compliance, and supporting continuous improvement across the service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate the supply of materials to maintenance and contract work sites
  • Supervise a diverse team of skilled tradespeople across various building trades
  • Participate in investigations following complaints or concerns about service quality
  • Liaise with colleagues to ensure proper resolution of service and repair issues
  • Attend meetings with internal departments, contractors, specialist firms, and other agencies
  • Assist in updating and developing procedures for monitoring and continuous improvement

Knowledge & Skills

  • Sound understanding of social housing construction and common building methods
  • Strong working knowledge of building regulations and statutory requirements
  • Awareness of asbestos-related regulations and procedures
  • Understanding of current health and safety legislation, including conducting risk assessments and producing method statements
  • Proficient in using IT systems, particularly Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Teams
  • Effective communicator, both written and verbal
  • Well-organised and able to prioritise tasks in a dynamic environment

Essential Requirements

  • Comprehensive knowledge of building regulations and construction practices
  • Health and safety awareness and knowledge of current legislation
  • Experience creating or reviewing risk assessments and method
  • SMSTS
