Job summary

Enva is seeking a Team Leader for SDA Processing at our Stourbridge site. You will support the Operations Manager in delivering safe, efficient and consistent daily processing activities, directing the team, achieving production and quality targets, and ensuring alignment with health, safety and environmental requirements.

The role includes basic people management, attendance monitoring and reporting concerns to the Operations Manager.

Qualifications

Experience in a team-leading or supervisory role within recycling, waste, or manufacturing environments.
Practical understanding of SDA processing and material segregation is desirable.
Good awareness of health, safety and environmental standards.

Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day direction and support to SDA processing team.
Monitor workflow, quality and productivity; escalate issues to Operations Manager.
Monitor attendance, punctuality and absence and report concerns promptly.
Support new starters with task instruction and on‑the‑job guidance; uphold standards of conduct.
Promote safe working practices; ensure PPE is worn and procedures followed.
Check SDA materials are processed to required quality and environmental standards.
Communicate priorities and hand over accurate shift updates to the next team leader.

As Team Leader for SDA Processing at Enva’s Stourbridge site, you will support the Operations Manager in the safe, efficient and consistent delivery of daily processing activities. You will provide day-to-day direction to the team, help achieve production and quality targets, and ensure work is completed in line with health, safety and environmental requirements. The role includes basic people‑management responsibilities, including monitoring attendance and absence and reporting concerns or issues promptly to the Operations Manager.

Full-time Team Leader position based in Stourbridge, working 40 hours per week
Three-shift working pattern: 5:45am–2:15pm, 1:45pm–10:15pm and 9:45pm–6:15am, with flexibility to support operational requirements
e role combines team coordination with hands‑on support in SDA processing
Work environment includes exposure to noise, dust and moving machinery
PPE will be provided and must be worn as required

Key Responsibilities

Team Coordination: Provide day-to-day direction and support to employees working within SDA processing, allocating work and ensuring priorities are understood.
SDA Processing: Support and participate in the safe sorting, handling, pre-picking, dismantling and processing of Small Domestic Appliances, ensuring materials are directed to the correct recycling streams.
Performance and Output: Monitor workflow, quality and productivity throughout the shift, helping the team achieve daily processing targets and escalating issues to the Operations Manager.
Attendance and Absence: Monitor attendance, punctuality and absence within the team, maintain accurate information and report concerns, patterns or staffing gaps to the Operations Manager in a timely manner.
People Support: Support new starters, provide task instruction and on-the-job guidance, reinforce expected standards of conduct and performance, and raise any people concerns promptly with the Operations Manager.
Health, Safety and Compliance: Promote safe working practices, ensure procedures and PPE requirements are followed, complete relevant checks and report hazards, incidents, near misses or equipment defects immediately.
Quality Control: Check that SDA materials are processed and segregated to the required quality, environmental and company standards, taking prompt action where standards are not met.
Communication and Handover: Communicate operational priorities, changes and issues clearly to the team and provide accurate shift updates and handovers to the Operations Manager and other Team Leaders.
Housekeeping: Maintain high standards of housekeeping and ensure work areas are organised and free from avoidable hazards.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Previous experience in a team-leading, supervisory or senior operative role within recycling, waste, manufacturing or a similar industrial environment
Practical understanding of SDA processing, material segregation or production operations is desirable
Ability to organise work, set clear expectations and provide day-to-day guidance to a team
Good awareness of health, safety and environmental standards
Reliable and organised, with the ability to monitor attendance, maintain accurate information and elevate concerns promptly
Clear communication skills and the confidence to address routine issues appropriately
Willingness to work hands‑on in a physically demanding environment and lead by example
