Job Description:

The Role: As a Team Leader - Scalable Systems Administrator, you will provide leadership in implementing, operating, and maintaining a high-performance cluster delivering IT services to a diverse user community within the business.

• Lead a team to develop and enhance IT and HPC skills aligned with business needs.
• Configure and optimize Linux-based HPC environments for performance and security.
• Monitor system performance and address potential issues proactively.
• Improve business delivery through project, bid, investment tasks, and lifecycle planning.
• Deploy and maintain HPC capabilities supporting engineering delivery, collaborating with software and IT teams.
• Mentor junior team members, fostering skills development and redundancy.

This is a full-time on-site role at Haslar, Gosport, requiring presence 3-5 days per week.

Essential Experience:

• Experience with Virtual Desktop and HPC environments, Linux OS, and administration.
• Experience configuring and optimizing queue systems and assisting with job scripts.
• Proven experience with Low Latency or RDMA network technologies and Linux scripting in HPC.
• Leadership skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical users.
• Understanding of HPC programming languages for debugging support.
• Familiarity with VMware, Hyper-V, Citrix, or similar virtualization systems.

Qualifications:

Technical Degree (Computer Science, Maths, Engineering, or equivalent) or relevant experience.
