Job description

Aberdeenshire Council is seeking an enthusiastic Team Leader within the Local Development Plan Team.

This role offers an opportunity to be involved at the forefront of Scotland's new development planning system within a large, prosperous, and rural authority.

The Team Leader will play a key role in developing and coordinating actions to deliver a new style Local Development Plan in 2028/29.

You will also act as a catalyst and mentor, supporting team members to achieve their potential and working collaboratively for Aberdeenshire Council.

The role includes providing support to developers and communities through the Local Development Plan process.

Applicants should be multi-skilled and adaptable, with a solid foundation to address complex planning issues cooperatively during a period of significant change.

You will work with diverse stakeholders, including Councillors, and provide expert advice on the implementation of National Planning Framework 4 and the current Local Development Plan 2023.

This is a fixed-term position until 30 September 2026.
