A key opportunity has arisen for a Planning and Building Standards Team Leader at Clackmannanshire Council. The role includes leading a team responsible for development planning and building standards while ensuring compliance with statutory obligations. The position fosters a culture of excellent service, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Lead Officers will provide leadership, vision, direction, and effective management of their area, fostering a culture of high-quality customer service, respect, partnership, collaboration, continuous improvement, and innovation.
Lead Officers are expected to work collaboratively with other lead officers, senior managers, and Directors to support the overall strategic and operational leadership of areas, ensuring that services are fit for purpose.
This is a key role in the Council's extended Management Team. Lead officers will be expected to gain and maintain credibility and trust among colleagues and be able to challenge appropriately.
The Planning and Building Standards Team Leader role includes Development Planning, Development Management, Building Standards, and wider Placemaking activities. The principal role is to ensure the Council's statutory responsibilities under the Town and Country Planning Acts, the Building (Scotland) Acts, Civic Government (Scotland) Act, and related legislation are fulfilled, in accordance with the Council's Competency Framework.
