Position Summary

You are the Captain of your Area. You are responsible for ensuring consistency of service standards, providing excellent service, and maintaining cleanliness and condition. You are accountable for achieving the store’s sales and profit by maintaining upselling procedures and guest care. It is your responsibility to keep your team motivated and create a cheerful, professional working environment that encourages guests to return to German Doner Kebab.

Duties and Responsibilities

Leads Operations Excellence:

  • Oversee and manage operations at a German Doner Kebab Restaurant.
  • Ensure guest service meets company standards and maintain high customer satisfaction.
  • Respond efficiently to guest complaints and take appropriate actions to resolve issues.
  • Ensure the best quality of products is served.
  • Organize and supervise responsibilities to ensure both team members and guest satisfaction.
  • Train and direct team members through well-organized training programs to ensure excellent guest service.
  • Appraise personnel performance and provide feedback to motivate and maintain productivity.
  • Maintain stock inventory and analyze consumption.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with food safety and health & safety regulations.
  • Promote and publicize the GDK brand effectively.
  • Nurture a positive working environment and lead by example.
  • Monitor operations and initiate corrective actions as needed.
  • Serve as duty manager on a rotation basis.
  • Lead pre- and post-shift meetings to communicate targets, share feedback, and brief the team on business updates.
  • Take responsibility for the business performance of the front of house.
  • Ensure operations adhere to GDK guidelines.
  • Address the root causes of guest complaints and resolve issues promptly.
  • Ensure all employees adhere to uniform standards.
  • Meet and greet guests and organize table reservations.
  • Organize and supervise shifts of dining and counter staff.
  • Maintain high standards of quality control, hygiene, and health & safety.
  • Prepare cash drawers and handle petty cash as required.
  • Assist in any position when circumstances demand.
  • Promote teamwork, cooperation, and a positive attitude within the working environment.
  • Complete daily reports at the end of each shift.
  • Attend training or meetings as required by GDK or the franchisee.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Operations Manager due to business needs.
  • Coordinate with the General Store Manager on all aspects of store operation.
  • Monitor stock storage areas to keep them neat and clean.
  • Collaborate to ensure tight stock control and achieve budgeted margins.
  • Fill out daily paperwork accurately.
  • Meet and greet customers where possible and model exceptional guest care.
  • Lead and maintain high standards of guest care.
  • Support colleagues during peak times and undertake operational duties as needed to meet guest expectations.
  • Ensure the GDK team is well groomed and professionally dressed.
  • Promote and comply with legal responsibilities and requirements.
  • Maintain a good working knowledge of all equipment and ensure preventative maintenance is performed efficiently.

  • Guests / Delivery drivers
  • GDK personnel

Qualifications:

A qualified candidate for the position of Shift Leader should possess outstanding communication skills and enthusiasm to work collaboratively with colleagues and the team. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience as a Supervisor/Duty Manager in the food industry.
  • Experience in guest service management.
  • Extensive knowledge of guest care.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Computer literacy and familiarity with POS systems.
  • Strong leadership, motivational, and interpersonal skills.
