Job summary

Home Bargains in Guernsey is seeking a Part Time Team Leader to support the launch and ongoing operations of a new store. You will work with the Store Management Team to deliver excellent customer service, coach staff, and maintain store standards.

The role offers a part-time contract with hours that may vary, including weekends. Opportunity to develop leadership skills and progress into broader store management roles.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising staff in fast-paced retail or hospitality.
• Strong customer service and coaching abilities.
• Excellent communication and team leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead store operations and staff scheduling to cover shifts.

Salary & Hours

• Salary: £33,259 FTE per annum, based on a 39-hour week. Your actual salary will be calculated pro rata based on your agreed contracted hours.


• Contracted hours: A range of contract sizes are available, from 12 hours per week, including 16, 17.6, 20, 24 and 26.4-hour contracts, plus some larger contracts with the opportunity to increase hours up to full-time, depending on your availability and business needs.


• Working pattern: We're happy to discuss your availability and preferred working pattern as part of the recruitment process, providing this fits within our store operating hours and management cover requirements.


• Availability: Flexibility to support weekends and/or evening fill shifts would be an advantage, but isn’t essential. Our priority is finding an experienced Team Leader's who can provide effective management cover across our store operations.

Job Introduction

We're excited to be opening our first Home Bargains store in Guernsey and are looking for some Part Time Team Leaders to join us and help build a successful new team from day one.

This is an opportunity to be part of a brand-new store opening and play an important role in bringing Home Bargains to the Island. As a Team Leader, you'll work closely with the Store Management Team and be an integral part of the store leadership team, supporting colleagues, delivering excellent customer service, and helping to create a positive shopping experience for our customers.

The Team Leader role is the first step into retail management at Home Bargains and provides an excellent opportunity to develop leadership and people management skills. You will gain hands-on experience leading teams, supporting store performance, and contributing to the overall success of the business. Many of our Store Managers and senior leaders started their careers in Team Leader positions, demonstrating the opportunities available for colleagues who show commitment, capability, and a desire to progress.
