The Role:

This is an important role with the Network Management team of our Highways and Regulatory Services Department. You will be responsible for coordinating all activities on our borough’s public highways, including utility and highway works, special events, and highway licensing. You will ensure that major projects by utility companies and developers are completed safely, on time, and with minimal disruption. You will develop and implement initiatives to coordinate works and monitor programs thoroughly.

Your responsibilities include leading initiatives involving TfL, such as the Bus Sense Corridor work, coordinating Thames Bridges Crossings, and other London-wide initiatives. You will chair quarterly stakeholder meetings, provide residents and businesses with necessary information, and update on works and incidents affecting the road network.

About You:

You should hold a City and Guilds New Roads and Street Works Act qualification levels 1-9, and an HNC or HND in Civil Engineering or a related field. You should have extensive experience with legislation and network management practices, managing major utility projects, and developing partnerships with stakeholders. You should be highly organized, capable of managing budgets, and able to consider the needs of residents and businesses in decision-making. Leadership qualities, commercial awareness, and a proactive approach to revenue maximization are essential.
